Harvest Pizza (Dublin)

Today’s restaurant is Harvest Pizza in Dublin.

I’ve been to the Harvest Pizza in German Village many times. It’s very tiny, and today I went with some coworkers to the Dublin location. I was surprised to find out that there are five Harvest Pizzas in the greater Columbus area.

Right off the bat, I’ll say that this place falls a little lean in terms of the gorgeous Columbus restaurant category. Not because it’s not beautiful, but because the decor is so understated and minimalistic that the pictures just aren’t very interesting.

Still, it’s very well done.  I was joking with myself I’d describe it as “Joanna Gaines threw up in here” because farmhouse themes and shiplap dominate.  And I wanted to get another blog post up since it’s been several days since the last one, so here we go.

Another strange disclaimer: I am not really a pizza fan. It just doesn’t feel like food to me.  Pizza seems more like just an appetizer that people try to fake a meal out of. I usually get an entree salad at Harvest, and it’s very, very good.

Situated in uptown Dublin, the vibe is along the lines of something that’s very established and been around for awhile. But that’s not true. While it is located in an older house that has been swallowed up by the ever-developing old Dublin downtown area, it's misleading. The whole area, including this restaurant, are pretty newly developed or revamped.

You can see the sign from the sidewalk:

We used the back entrance, and were greeted with gorgeous toile wallpaper and a Greek fisherman’s light fixture.  The hostess stand is below it.

Opposite is a small seating area in case there’s a wait.  The artwork is a nice touch.

There are a line of booths along the toile wall.  Everything is rustic-plywood and shiplap inspired. The beadboard and plants separate a path for the staff to walk from the kitchen to the seating area.

Once you’re seated, you can see another dividing wall separates the entrance and hostess area from the general seating.

Throughout the restaurant, there were a series of paintings on display, and my guess is that this is a rotating exhibit/sale.  The paintings displayed today were very farmhouse-appropriate.  I didn’t want to photograph more than one of the paintings for sale, but I did snag this one.

The majority of the seating and shiplap on the walls is plywood.  It really works.  Here is a hipster water bottle and you can see the plywood booth in the background.

And here you can see a plywood shiplap wall with more artwork (this particular piece not for sale).

Moving to the other room, the feel is distinctly darker while still keeping with the farmhouse vibe.  The bar itself is pretty gorgeous:

There are still plenty of plywood booths, but the whole room is painted this medium sage green.  The photos varied widely and none of them accurately reflects the color, although this one comes close.

There’s a special nook table:

And I particularly liked the pattern on the curtains. It felt mid-century to me:

A big trend (both in restaurants and in home decor) seems to be using furniture for non-intended use.  Here a farmhouse style bookshelf is a supply station for the restaurant.
